Why Astrology?

Getting to know themselves from an astrological point of view has helped people identify who they’re meant to be and how they’re meant to express themselves. Astrology provides symbolic insight into who we are and how we express ourselves.

I don’t believe that celestial bodies “do” anything to us, but rather that they are external symbolic representations of what’s going on with us internally.

At some point just about everybody asks themselves, “Who am I and why am I here?” Astrology can help you get to know you on a deeper level.

People have told me that after an in-depth astrology reading they have felt totally validated in discovering that they’ve been on the right path all along.

Other people have said they used to experience confusion over why they are the way they are, but now they have clarity because they understand themselves better.

If you’re experiencing a lack of direction, self-doubt, uncertainty, or maybe it’s other people or situations that seem perplexing, having a look at your natal chart can provide you with guidance and insight into how you’re  hard-wired.

For millennia it’s been commonplace to look to the heavens to find meaning in life.

Ancient cultures believed “as above, so below” - that the world outside is a reflection of the world inside.

When a child was born, ancient astrologers would look to the sky to learn who this child is meant to be and what it is they’re meant to do.

In alignment with the Law of Correspondence - as above, so below - the planets and the stars and how they were related to each other and where they were in the sky at the time of your birth form a roadmap to how you are energetically predisposed to experience your reality.

Knowing the exact position of the Sun would help astrologers to understand how a child is meant to express externally out in the world. Looking to see what is rising in the east provides insight into who this child is meant to become.

Charting which planets are working together synergistically and which may be opposed to each other provides information about why a person feels strong and confident in one area of life but experiences an ebb and flow in another area.

It might feel as though the conscious mind is pulling in one direction but emotions are pulling in another. Learning about yourself will allow you to reconcile and integrate these energies inside so that you make the best decisions and choices for your own life path.

This will also help you to understand why you perceive other people and situations in certain ways and give you alternative ways of viewing things. More importantly, you will know yourself.

What is Astrology?

At the time of your birth, how the planets and stars were related to each other and how they were connected and where they were in the sky is like a snapshot of how you are energetically hard-wired. It’s your natal chart that is the snapshot.

A natal chart depicts exactly where planets and stars were related to each other, and this tells you how things connect and interact for you in your life.

Your soul came into this life with certain talents and attributes that you’re already good at doing. You know there have been things you didn’t need to be taught because you already just naturally understood them.

You also wanted to grow and learn new lessons so you could add these to the soul traits you already have.

Your natal chart is a representation of your potential. Your natal chart gives you insight as to where you’re already strong in an area and which strengths you want to develop. This is your life path. It’s what you’re meant to do.

Once you see who you’re meant to be and what you’re meant to do, you’ll want to determine: Are you actualizing the talents you were born with? In other words, are you living to your potential?

Two people born at the same time in the same place with a similar chart can be living very different lives because one might be living to their potential while the other is holding back.

There is no fate. The choice is yours. And you can make your choices every day.

This is about you getting to know you, who you are, who you are becoming, what your life path is, what your purpose is, and how to work with your natural gifts and talents.

Carl Jung taught a concept called Perception is Projection.

What this means is that whatever we observe in the outside world is a direct reflection of what is inside us.

This is empowering because we can’t control anything outside of us, but we can control what is inside of us. If we’re not experiencing reality exactly the way we want to, we have the ability to create change from the inside.

When you learn your natal chart, you get to know you. You learn about your identity, how you view yourself internally, and how you like to show up externally.

You’ll learn lessons around refinement and expression of the individual self. You learn about your encounters with others and understanding others and also about transcending the boundaries of self and others and moving into the realm of Spirit.

We’ve all heard of people who invested a lot of time and money to get through college only to end up majoring in an area that doesn’t even align with who they really are.

They may have trusted someone else to make that big decision for them rather than checking inside to see for themselves. When we don't know who we are inside, we take on the values of those around us.

Other people have gotten into the wrong job or the wrong relationship because they aren’t clear on what’s important to them so they went with what seemed okay at the time.

One day they wake up and face the fact that they don’t feel fulfilled because they’re not on their own path. They’re on a path someone else told them to follow.

"Spot on! My reading for my birthday was fantastic.

I learned new things about myself and understood more deeply some of my lifelong challenges. Thank you for such a skillful reading of my chart."

How Astrology Will Help You

Knowing who you really are and what you’re meant to do means you can trust yourself.

You’ll see for yourself why you’re here and what you’re meant to do. You will develop flexibility and control your mindset.

It’s been said that we don’t see the world the way it is, that we see the world the way we are.

Having an understanding of our own projections -- our own bias in perception - brings immense flexibility and allows us to evaluate ourselves and our interactions with others from new and different perspectives.

This flexibility to change your mindset will give you the major advantage of being able to choose how you want to show up. You will recognize your own tendencies, why you are the way you are, and how to work with your natural inclinations.

Knowing our own biases lets us make new assessments of our experiences, and this gives us new choices of how to be in the world.

You will learn how you tend to express yourself internally and externally. Then you can ask yourself, is that actually working for me or not?

If it’s not, you’ll know how to make changes.

Be Who You're Meant to Be

If you’re called to be someone in this lifetime – maybe a leader or a teacher or a parent or anyone at all – you want to know that.

You want to be that person you’re hard-wired to be.

The amazing thing is that once you know who you’re meant to be, you will know exactly what you’re meant to do.

You'll Learn What's Important to You and Why

When you know who you really are, life becomes so much easier.

You will know whether something that looks like an opportunity is actually in alignment with your path or if it’s something you’re better off taking a hard pass.

You get to stop trying to live up to someone else’s expectations of you, which you can’t ever do anyway, and instead you get to be you.
